This weekend I went on a voyage to the far-off lands where the earth turns into saltwater...
(Actually, it wasn't that far off, but let's pretend, shall we?) ;)
To the small town of Cannon Beach. If you live nearby, you'll know where I mean. Mr. Haystack Rock resides there.
I felt as if I had wandered into an old black and white picture, monochromatic and strangely whimsical. The waves were grey, the sky a dull white.
I love the ocean. I love how it tickles your toes...
I was combing the foamy waves, among seaweed and feathers and broken shells. I was looking for treasure. Sea glass. Broken bits of colored glass thrown overboard by pirates or hidden in shipwrecks that wash up on the beach, the edges polished smooth by the rough waves and sand. After walking aways, I found it.
Green as a trafficlight and shining in the grey.
I wonder what it came from? Anyhoo, I find sea glass very interesting and charming. :) Enough with my rambling, let's go to the seashore candy shop!
This is just like sweet Candyland dreams...
So you see, sometimes the seashore is just the place to be.
Even on black-and-white-picture days.
ps- As I write this, I hear the ice cream truck meandering through the neighborhood. I am quite certain the music from the ice cream truck is my favorite sound. :)
pps- Go enter the giveaway to win a very sweet strawberry ring! Go go go!
ppps- Next time we will be meeting Miss Kewpie Pye that I adopted before going to the seashore! She is so cute.
